From Agadir to Tafraout
Tafraout offers a natural and exceptional setting thanks to
the pink granite mountains that surround it. It also offers fresh air thanks to
its altitude of 1100 meters, Tafraout is surrounded by a myriad of rocks of
various shapes, rising above a palm grove that shelters argan trees and
plantations of almond and olive trees. In spring, the Tafraout valley offers a
magnificent spectacle when the almond trees are in bloom. The Chleuhs or Ichelḥiyen
inhabitants of the Tafraout valley cultivate grains and many fruit varieties,
including almonds, Argan oil and various other types of natural or medicinal
plantations
From Tafraout to Tiznit
Tiznit, the capital of the province nestled in the ground,
is a haven of peace on the edge of the burning desert. Surrounded by its
ramparts; walls of more than 5 km, Tiznit has 29 towers and 8 gates. First, you
will stroll through the old medina with its open-air market, discover superb
architectural designs with unique red houses and blue iron doors.
In Tiznit, you can enjoy the liveliness of the city and the
charm of its surroundings. Walking through the alleys of the medina, first,
visit the souk of the jewelers. Tiznit is very famous for the expertise of its
craftsmen and jewelers, who populate the old quarter and work silver and gold
in a fine delicacy thus creating remarkable objects and jewels. You can also
visit the old souk, its architecture is exceptional. Sneak between the columns
along the patios, and visit the workshops where the Tiznit craftsmen work with
silver.

Road to Tiznit
Arrival in Tiznit: Visit of the ramparts, city tour, and the
old Medina, visit of a jewelry cooperative...
Return to Agadir via the Youssef Ben Tachefine dam.
